BNSF Tank Train Northbound in Aggieland

It was a busy Easter evening on the Navasota sub. Early in the evening the sky cleared off and I stepped out in the pursuit of local bluebonnets. The sounds of a incoming train changed that plan.

The first job of the evening was this northbound BNSF empty tank train at Rock Prairie Road in College Station.

Running right behind him was a UP powered unit tank train. Both of these northbounders met a pair of southbound on Main 2 at Bryan. The action didn't stop there though. Behind the 2 southbounds at Bryan Main 2 was another southbound unit coal train coming up the Bryan sub.

So the evening ended with a total of 5 trains past the university in a few hours. Not a bad finish to an Easter Sunday.

  1. Nice. Is that a crude oil train? If so, where is it going?
